• PUR Perfect Binding: High quality PUR binding is assured with dual application drums and separate EVA / PSA side glue application. Drum application enables production of one to one variable thickness books with maximum quality control.

The Horizon BQ-160 Single-clamp Perfect Binder is equipped with an intuitive, icon-based color touchscreen for fingertip adjustment of key parameters. This “intelligent automation” feature is built into all Horizon post-press products. With single-person operation, the BQ-160 can produce three popular types of binding: perfect binding, tape binding and pad binding – at speeds up to 180 cycles per hour with books up to 1.1” thick. The BQ-160 is specifically designed for cut sheet applications. Other advantages include an electric book clamp, two-way notching, an efficient paper dust vacuum system, nipper height and tilt adjustment from the touchscreen, and a dynamic nipper table for auto book sizing.

The automated AFV-566FKT Folder is a 6-buckle folder with integrated knife/buckle cross-folding that contains 44 fully-automated settings for improved efficiency, more operator-friendly production, and reduced waste and make-ready. Roller gaps and buckle plates can be easily fine-tuned from the improved touchscreen control panel, and automated stop adjustment under the knife and trailing edge roller adjustments reduce operator intervention and maximize machine uptime.

• Pre-configured patterns: The CRF-362 comes configured with 7 selectable fold patterns and 6 selectable cover creasing patterns for perfect binding including spine, hinge, and flap creasing.

The Standard Horizon PF-40L combines high-volume suction feed capabilities with the intelligent automation that Horizon products are known for.

As part of Standard Horizon’s popular RD series of die cutters, the RD-N4055 system can die cut, kiss-cut, emboss/deboss, crease/score, perforate, slit, hole punch, and round corner in a single pass or in multiple combinations for a wide range of applications including business cards, invitations, labels, door hangers, light packaging, and more. With the addition of the SPC-N4055 separator and optional CSD-40RD card stacker, this new system also eliminates the need for manual separating and counting at the delivery section to allow operators to work more efficiently, improve accuracy with an automated, verified piece count, and increase production efficiency for small and short-run pieces.

• Stacked output: Small-format product is pile stacked – in 1-up or in multiple stack output – and transported by belt for offloading at the delivery section, eliminating time-consuming manual separation, counting, and stacking.
• New separator: The SPC-N4055 separator contains 20 transport belts (up from 12), each with a smaller diameter than previous generations, for more accurate separation, more stable operation, and smoother transportation.
• Individual stack counter: A sensor on each delivery path counts individual pieces to eliminate human error in counting and to improve accuracy. The system flags and displays any undercounts on the system’s touchscreen monitor so that operators can catch errors quickly.
• Higher productivity: The RD-N4055 system can increase productivity by 20% compared to the previous model. For example, using a max sheet size of 21.65” x 15.74” and long-edge imposition (4×9), the system can support 36-up business card applications, reducing the required number of parent sheets from 9 to only 7 with easy separation and stacking. In addition, a new minimum sheet spec of 3.15” x 1.969” enables more efficient production of small pieces.
• Suction belt transport: The suction belt provides stable transport of individual pieces post separation. Single piece delivery is much more efficient than stream delivery for transporting and stacking small pieces. Its base settings cover all types of stocks, but the vacuum draw down can also be adjusted depending upon stock and piece size.

The Horizon RD-4055DM Rotary Die Cutter with dual magnetic cylinders is designed to simultaneously die-cut and crease/ score short-run product from both sides of the sheet. It can also perforate, slit, hole punch and round corner in one process for digital and offset printed sheets. This system features easy change-over and simple operation. A “Repeat Register” function allows multiple-up applications from a single-up die to minimize costs. Handles complex creasing patterns and light packaging applications with ease.
